Hi, I'm Vince.

I'm an Interaction Designer, specialized on creating and optimizing Video Game UI and UX

Please note that this page is best experienced on a PC/Mac until I finish optimizing the mobile version.

Here are some selected Projects
feel free to browse.

RPG Trader

To maximize my experience gain towards the end of my masters education, I felt I needed to challenge myself by building a complex UI based game from scratch.

So I found myself a team partner and I embarked on the journey of developing the merchant-type mobile game RPG Trader.

Over the course of two semesters we grew an Idea into a fully functional alpha.

Beam

For my bachelors degree, my team partners and I set out to conceptualize a new way in which teachers and students can interact with technology in modern schools.

The result was beam. A software platform enabeling the safe and productive use of smartphones and digital whiteboards in the classroom.

Brawlympics

In a international collaboration between german and japanese students I was part of the development of the olympics themed brawler game Brawlympics.

I assumed the responsibility of designing and implementing the games user interface and assisted in game design.

In this project I focused on utilizing simple shapes, color and motion to convey information, as this was what the team requested.

Journalize

For an Invention Design course during my bachelors education, my teampartner and I designed and prototyped an aplication for introspective journaling.

The idea was utilize speech to text and text analysis algorithms to create an approachable, convenient and useful tool for constructive self-reflection.

About me...

My name is Vincent Fischer.

I’m an Interaction Designer on a mission to help unlock the full potential of video games, for both their players and creators.

To be able to do that I spent most of my adult life acquiring and developing skills related to the creation of high-quality user interfaces and beyond that, meaningful user experiences.

First I got a bachelor’s degree in interaction design, gaining expertise in processes, methods and thinking patterns used to create useful, useable, desirable, credible and accessible digital products.

During this time I also did an internship at the design studio 17K. Among other things I worked on some futuristic interface concepts for a local car manufacturer which are sadly under NDA.

Translation (english):

Mister Fischer fulfilled all his tasks to our complete satisfaction. In general, he was capable of conceptualizing, realizing and communicating highly diverse design ideas. Occasionally he was in direct client contact, which he always embraced in a friendly and constructive manner.

Mister Fischer always proved himself to be a very dedicated and constructive employee in day-to-day business.  He encountered new topics with a high degree of openness and was able to familiarize himself his assignments very quickly. He showed the highest degree of readiness, capacity and initiative. In addition, he applied himself to teamwork in a target-oriented manner.

Then I got a master’s degree in media and games concept development, applying my skills to the development of gaming experiences and acquiring new ones in the process.

These are the things I do:

  • wire framing
  • visual design
  • motion design/UI animation
  • data visualization

While I’m proficient in all of the above, concept work, information architecture and motion design are some of my personal favorites.

I also have not exclusively professional interests!

Gaming

Unsurprisingly I am what could be called a gaming enthusiast. I have played a lot of video games on various platforms throughout my life and have no intention to stop.

What I have not played, I have most likely heard about or watched hours of game play and reviews of.

Reading

I like fiction, both the science-fiction and fantasy variety. I particularly enjoy epic stories in detailed and fantastical worlds.

Frank Herberts Dune series and J.R.R Tolkiens Lord of The Rings are my all-time favorites and I know more about these two (and some other) fictional universes than I am willing to admit.

Woodworking

I have always liked to build practical and less practical contraptions out of wood. Nowadays I mostly do relief carving, it’s quite relaxing.

I’m not particularly good at it but I love to work with my hands from time to time.

I'm currently working at KING Art Games!

I have a strong desire to keep my app icons free of notification badges so i’ll see your message for sure.
